So when I go there and manually double click them the library manager pops up but says No action was performed, the corresponding VST sounds are already registered. What's going on here, why does it not find the default vstsound files? I think they are supposed to be in C:\ProgramData\Steinberg\Content\HALion\VST Sound. It would make sense for the Basic, Artist and Pro set to be included in a bundle. You would think this free library would be included in the Absolute bundle but for some reason only the Basic SE library is included. I also downloaded a free guitar harmonics Halion soundbank and that installed correctly and showed up in both the library manager and in Halion itself. I noticed the free version of Cubase (Cubase LE) comes with the HALion Sonic SE Artist library. It's like the library manager does not understand that it is installed. If you drop a multi or bank on the multi-program slot, the current multi is. Multis and banks in third-party sampler formats can be dropped on the multi-program slot, the Slot Rack, or the Program Table. You can load entire programs, selected layers, or samples. Activate Keep Installation Files to keep the installation files. The supported third-party sampler programs appear as nodes in the location tree. I checked the Library manager and I have no soundbanks for Halion installed or registered whatsoever. Select Register in Place to install the libraries at the current location.
Halion itself installs fine, but when I open it it does not have any soundbanks.
All this power does come with a learning curve, although there are 20GB+ of synths and libraries you can jump right into. I downloaded and installed Halion Sonic SE3. HALion 6 is a tweaker’s delight From sampling to editing, synthesis to instrument interface design and scripting there is little this workhorse does not provide. Ok, so this is strange and I don't get why.
